The KLAPA

Klapa is a traditional a capella group famous in Dalmatia, Croatia. Originating from the Middle Ages, it has evolved into modern klapa in the 19th century. With polyphonic singing and distinct voice types, klapa singers perform love texts with perfect intonation and clear pronunciation. The Modern Klapa movement includes the use of instruments. The Dalmatian Klapa Festival in Omiš has played a vital role in preserving this cultural tradition.
