    • Available online back to their inceptions

    • PDF Full text articles

    • Photographs, cartoons, maps, illustrations, etc.

    • Marriage/birth notices, obituaries, stock quotes, ads, etc.

  • Newspapers From TexShare

    • Contains U.S. and international newspapers

    • Coverage begins c. 1996 (different dates for each newspaper)

    • Can search up to 10 newspapers at once (use the “Browse” feature)

    • Does not index obituaries, sports scores, classified ads, etc.

    • Especially useful for searching Texas legislative information (Austin-American Statesman and Houston Chronicle)

    • Coverage begins c. 1985 (different dates for each newspaper)

    • Search 5 newpapers at once (click “Source List”)

    • Especially useful for searching international newspapers

  • Newspaper Source Database

    • Partial coverage (with selected full text) from 200+ newspapers, 1997 to present

    • Contains full-text television news transcripts from CBS, Fox, NPR, etc.

  • Dallas Morning News

    • Online Archive covers 1924 – 1977; full text with pictures, ads, obituaries, etc.

    • Recent online coverage, 1984 – present;

      gap (1978-1983) supplemented by microfilm

  • Many newspapers do not have complete online indexes.

  • Search any combination of 50 databases produced by EBSCO at one time.

  • Limit by language, date, type of publication, etc.

  • Includes some full text

  • Use truncation (*) for word variants to broaden search.

  • Use quotation marks around phrases.

  • Do not limit search to full text. If there are no full text links, check the library’s catalog---the articles may be available electronically on another database.

  • Use Interlibrary Loan for items we do not own
