  1. Pro:Two Identity Student No. B00548343 Name: Winnie Tang

  2. Identify I wanted to re-brand my parents Chinese Takeaway “YauKee” as I thought it could do with a fresh new look. I started brainstorming ideas of logo ideas: Use of Chinese Zodiac: 2012 = 2013 = Snake Characters Chinese Symbols I wanted to keep the name of the business and explore different type fonts and introduce a character with the logo. I want to add more colour and modern style to appeal to the audience more, with my style added into the mix.

  3. Research To start off with I looked online to research logo ideas and branding:

  4. Theme I then looked into the themes I could use for my logo: Food Garden

  5. Theme I thought using the Zodiac animal would be fun and I also started to look at red pandas as they are from china. Zodiac Animals Red Panda

  6. Chinese Symbols I also had a look into using objects than associate with China: Lanterns & Charms Other

  7. Characters My next step of research was looking into characters such as a little Chinese girl & boy:

  8. Sketches – Chinese Zodiac I started to sketch out my logo with the Chinese Zodiac animals: Snake & Dragon: The composition balance between the text and the animal was quite hard to achieve, and I didn’t like how the logo was turning out. So I started to sketch Red Pandas to see how it could be incorporated with the logo.

  9. Sketches – Red Panda I thought the Red Pandas did not suit in the end as I wanted to add something which related to China.

  10. Sketches – Children Characters I enjoyed the idea of having little children characters and, as a result, I could sketch quite a few ideas.

  11. Logo Composition

  12. Final Character Design Idea I wanted to keep the illustration of the Chinese boy & girl simple with features, such as the clothes, recognisable to the audience of the country represented. I incorporated my style of design and cuteness appeal to ensure my signature was present.

  15. Exploring As the customer is a Chinese Takeaway, there is the opportunity to create stationary for the business that could be used. I sketched a few ideas on menus, letterheads, business cards, packaging, stickers, etc. But first I will create the logo…

  16. My Logo Design I had many ideas on the composition and it was extremely hard to choose one logo. I decided with the many different types of stationary to create, I could use the logo which best suited the format of the stationary. All the logos relate to each other and you can tell they are the from the same business.
