  3. What is AHCS? • Web based system using 3 tier technology • Oracle database; TB testing; PMs Labs and TB blood tests • Application server; business logic: background rules • Computer; front end user. • Networked at 30 locations in the country on DAFF intranet

  4. What is AHCS? PVPLINK: Veterinary practitioner interface on AHCS using electronic transfer of TB and Brucellosis testing results. 403 practices; 958 PVPs; 95% of practices on line. Internet used to access system

  5. What is AHCS? Integrated with other systems: Cattle movement monitoring system: CMMS Corporate Customer system: CCS Laboratory Information system LIMS Linkages : NASA; Accounts and payments system AIM: Animal identification and movement system in relation to status/testing information

Contribution to Disease Eradication Programme • Improved effectiveness and efficiency • Electronic test reporting: Test queues; reduced delay in submission; • CMMS profiles used for testing; discrepancies betwewen animal location and test location highlighted • Reduced paper reporting; electronic certification introduced; ER15D

  7. Prompt removal of reactors with automatic generation of movement permits and valuations on the system • Payment processing automated and streamlined • High priority herds and tests highlighted for Veterinary Inspector through the use of queues

  8. Prompts automatic follow up for Veterinary inspector. • Allows review of herds and testing using queues and reports • Any animal, herd, business customer or enterprise can be viewed anywhere in the country; eliminates paper movement and telephone contact between offices
