  2. I Am Not Ashamed… …to say that all churches are not equal.

  3. All churches are not equal because… …not all churches use the Bible as their sole source of authority. “learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.” - 1 Cor. 4:6

  17. Bishop = Pastor = Overseer = Elder = Shepherd Equal Responsibilities • Bishop: “take care of the church of God” (1 Tim. 3:5) • Pastors: (Gk. “poimen”) lit. meaning “a shepherd’” • Elders: “Shepherd the flock of God…serving as overseers” (1 Peter 5:2) • Overseers/Shepherds

Scriptural Leadership: Deacons “deacons must be…” - 1 Tim. 3:8-13 Must Be • Reverent • Hold “the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience” • Tested, Proven Themselves Blameless • Married Men (i.e. having one reverent “wife” who are temperate & faithful in all things.) • Rule Their Children & Homes Well Must Not Be: • Double-tongued • Given To Much Wine • Greedy For Money • Married to slanderous wives

  24. All Churches cannot be equal becausenot all churches are autonomous. Autonomous: independent and self-governing: • Jesus = Only Head • Self-Governed Locally • No Example of Oversight By a Body Larger Than The Local Church
