  2. Brief Introduction to SCRP • We work to Reconnect the Community to its Railway • We promote Sustainable Travel • We cover 5 lines in Sussex, Kent & Surrey (2 new) • We have a small team of 2 paid staff & volunteers • We are a Partnership of LAs, Rail Industry & Communities

  3. The last12 months; • More working with local communities • More Station Partnerships • More Working with Young People • More Consultations & Industry Negotiations • More Service Improvements

Services Working with Southern and our other partners SCRP has helped to implement improvements in services which local communities need, these include; • A later last train from London on the Uckfield line. The last train now leaves London Bridge at 23.04. • Additional peak stops at Cowden on the Uckfield line. • Additional capacity on the East Grinstead Line with some 12 car trains during peak times. • An earlier morning train from Uckfield to London Bridge

  6. Events • Charity Coffee Mornings • Opening New Station Facilities • Supporting Local Community Events • Raising Awareness outside of Rail Industry

Consultations & Campaigning CONSULTATIONS The SCRP believes in working with the rail industry, planners and council to improve the long term capacity and flexibility of the railway for its local communities. Therefore we have contributed to the following consultations; Network Rail’s London & South East RUS Review Network Rail’s Electrification RUS Strategic Plans Local Sustainable Transport Fund Bids Local Transport Plans DfT’s franchise Consultation.

  13. What does the Future Look Like? • The Uckfield & East Grinstead Steering Group is already working on their 2013 Work Programme. • We will be continuing to work in our main objective areas. • As always we want your feedback and suggestions for the work programme.
