Precipitation

  • Precipitation : Any form of water that falls to Earth’s surface from the clouds

  • Examples are: rain, snow, hail, and sleet.


Precipitation

  • Hail: small, round pieces of ice formed in thunder clouds and falling like rain; hailstones

  • Rain: water condensed from atmospheric vapor and falling in drops from the sky

  • Sleet: partly frozen rain; snow or hail mixed with rain.

  • Snow: water vapor frozen into crystals that fall to earth in soft, white flakes and spread often upon its as a white layer
