  1. Poaching Problems By: Trey Strong, Evan Tolle, and Donik Smajli By: Trey Evan Donik

  2. Introduction • Many animals in Africa are found no where else in the world. Unfortunately, many of these animals are in danger. Their numbers have decreased dramatically over the past.

  3. What's The Problem? Poaching is one of the main problems causing Africa’s population to decline. • Why is the wildlife population in Africa declining and what are people doing to fix this problem? How can we help? This is an elephant tusk which contains ivory

  4. Elephants • African Elephants declination problems are mainly because their ivory tusks. Poachers kill the African Elephants for their ivory. Once they get their tusks the poachers leave them there, and go sell the ivory.

  5. Gorillas • Eastern lowland gorillas: there are a little less than 5000 left in Africa. • Cross River gorillas: are extremely endangered there isn’t even three hundred left in Africa. • Mountain gorillas are also highly endangered there is only about 700 in Africa.

  6. Rhinoceros Javan Rhinoceros • Black Rhino: 2,400 left in AfricaWhite Rhino: 7,500 left in AfricaSumatran Rhino: 400 left in AfricaJavan Rhino: fewer than 100 left in AfricaIndian Rhino: more than 2,000 left in Africa. Like elephants, rhinos are poached for their ivory tusks. Indian Rhinoceros Black Rhinoceros White Rhinoceros Sumatran Rhinoceros

  7. How Can We Help • How can we help? Africa has banned poaching but poachers still poach why? Maybe its because the consequence is not strong enough. We think Africa should take the law to the extreme if poachers keep poaching throughout the continent. We can help by sending letters to African governments giving them advice about the problem. Maybe they should use soldiers to protect the animals? They could also make more preserves and zoos to save more animals. They could also stop cutting trees, burning grasslands for crops, polluting the continent, and destroying land to make cities.

  8. Conclusion • So basically, poaching is the main problem of African Animal declination. Poaching, although it’s the main problem for declination its not the only. There’s human environment interaction. People cutting down trees, polluting, and destroying land for cities are examples of human environment interaction. We hope that Africa’s animal problem will go away soon!!! Then
