John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only one from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Philippians 2:6-7 “Although He existed in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but He emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.”

Philippians 2:6-7 “Although He existed in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but He emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.”Mary was the young woman chosen by God to be the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, and to raise Him in preparation for His ministry and His ultimate sacrifice.

Luke 1:26-49

Mary would become pregnant while engaged

The Jewish Law was very strict and severe

Deuteronomy 22:20-21 “Men shall stone her to death because she has committed an act of folly in Israel.”

Leviticus 18:29 says, “Those persons who do so shall be cut off from among their people.”

Mary still believed and obey God. “Be it done to me according to your word.”

Luke 2:41-51

Jesus went missing; stayed behind in the temple

Mary and Joseph went every year

They stayed the full number of days

Mary was surely a good and godly example to her children

John 2:1-10

Jesus did first miracle turning water into wine

Mary fully expected Jesus to do as she desired

Apparently had taught her children to obey, and she would be confident that it would be done

Mary raised Jesus to prepare Him for the life that He would live and give

John 19:23-27

Jesus turned over the care of His mother to John, the disciple whom He loved

Mary apparently remained silent despite what they were doing to her son

Mary knew that her son was really the Son of God

She knew His entire life was leading up to the day He would be crucified on the cross

What can we learn from Mary?

Mary believed and obeyed

She had faith in God

She taught her children to obey

Her life was focused on Jesus

What can we learn from Mary?

Mary believed and obeyed

She had faith in God
