  • On February 8, 1966 Bill Clinton Signed into Law

  • Was supported by Congress

  • The 1996 Act replaced 62 year old Act

  • Primary Goal of the Telecom Act of 1996

  • Vice President Al Gore quoted “…”

  • Congress supported the technology must be available to everyone

  • Broadcast Companies had two Key Objectives:

    • Relief from FCC on Limits of Broadcasting station

    • Spectrum Flexibility

  • Legislators Agreed & Disagreed


Why 35 ownership

Why 35 % Ownership ???
