  1. An innovative, award winning HIV research organisation, a division of the Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of the Witwatersrand. The Perinatal HIV Research Unit (PHRU) is recruiting experienced individuals who want to work together with their study team to optimise their efforts in Research. • Research Nurse • Based in Tshepong Hospital / Klerksdorp • Experience and Skills required:  • ·Registered as Enrolled or Professional nurse in South Africa • ·Empathy for and understanding of people living with HIV/AIDS and TB • ·Ability to communicate in local languages of the Klerksdorp Region • ·Ability to work independently and be part of a multidisciplinary team • ·Computer literacy or willingness to become computer literate • ·GCP certificate and research experience will be an added advantage • Willingness to do home visits for follow up of patients • Main Areas of Responsibility • ·Assist in participant recruitment and keep attendance register. • ·Actively participate as part of the team in the provision of informed consent, screening, enrolling, and follow-up visits. • ·Follow-up participants who fail to attend their study visit • ·Ensure that study procedures, documents and data flow are managed according to the protocol, SSPs and PHRU SOPs • ·Set-up/maintain participant source documents • ·Ensure laboratory kits are always available on site • ·Ensure that blood specimens are taken to the laboratory timeously • ·Ensure that laboratory results are attended to and signed by the medical officer and correctly • ·Prepare for the monitors visit • ·Assist when necessary in education and adherence support • ·Assist or take on any other duties as deemed appropriate for the study • CLOSING DATE: 6 November 2007 • Please send a comprehensive c.v. to the Recruitment Manager : Erica on ebernardo@witshealth.co.za or fax 0866497095, please specify for which position you are applying • Only short listed applicants will be contacted. • WHC is an equal opportunity employer
