  1. RAO HOSPITALS

  2. Rao Hospitals Rao Hospital was started in 1953 by Dr. Major Sudhakar Rao, son of Dr.Raghavendra Rao, the chief surgeon of former Travancore, in a small building at R.S. Puram. Dr. Major Sudhakar Rao, served in Burma for the Indian Medical Service during the war. Thanks to his bold and pioneering move to begin practice in a fledging town like Coimbatore, today we have evolved to a 100 bedded comprehensive women hospital and Centre for Assisted Reproduction and Endoscopy (CARE). The hospital specializes in Infertility, Gynecology Obstetrics, Neonatology, Minimal Access Surgeries and General Surgery.

  3. In Vitro Fertilization In-Vitro fertilization (IVF) involves combining of the egg and the sperm cells in vitro or within the laboratory. On fertilization, the embryos are transferred to the mother’s womb and the pregnancy is carried to full term. It is performed in cases of infertility due to blocked or damaged Fallopian Tubes, cervical factor infertility, endometriosis, male factor infertility immunological infertility or infertility due to unexplained causes.

  4. In Vitro Fertilization

  5. To increase chances of pregnancy • Usage of several different medications to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. • Usage of vaginal ultrasound to collect eggs from the ovaries. This is performed under the effect of light anesthesia. • Fertilization is done while in culture by combining the sperm and egg. • Usage of a small thin catheter to place the embryo(s) into the uterus.
