These kids can attend either or both • Everything we do for high school is considered part of GYM • Everything we do for middle school is considered part of GENESIS SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM YOUTH MINISTRY

YM ALT • SUNDAY EVENING MASS • Begin promoting immediately • Bulletin-Announcements-E mail-Bulletin stuffer not and in September • Prayer chapel • 5:00PM • High school program (9-12) to follow from 6 -7 or 7:30 or 8:00pm. One aspect of GYM • No longer than 8:00pm • Open to all but success will be determined by how many youth attend the program afterwards SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM YOUTH MINISTRY

YM ALY • SURVEY-Misc • Four asked for additional service opportunities • Four suggested dealing with diversity and celebrating our differences • Two suggested a youth music ministry and more praise and worship music • One suggested “self esteem” “Decision Making” • Comments: • Social issues • High school meet on Sunday morning just like GENESIS • How to make good moral decisions when the right thing to do isn’t easy • Who is God; Holy Spirit; Trinity; how do we use the Bible? Stress and school issues; ways to deal with problems; current issues; prayer; open discussion sessions; how does God play a role in college life; open communication with parents and guardians; movie nites; dances SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM YOUTH MINISTRY

Let’s get to work • Sunday evening Mass • September 29th 6:00 to 8:00PM • Program on addiction….Jackie Calkins…heroin addict…21 • 30 to 45 minute presentation followed by open discussion, followed by discussion of questions presented on index cards; followed by break out groups each led by an adult and teen • Speaker would float • Need to establish team of adults and teens • We would meet at least once to prepare as a group so all are on the same page. Hopefully Jackie Calkins could be with us for that session • Social time and pizza • How do we promote SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM YOUTH MINISTRY

YM ALT • GYM- • Program for October and November on Sunday evening • Advent Penance Service with visiting Priest • Search • Open discussion on first Thursday of month • Steubenville prayer follow up on first Saturday of the month following the Saturday evening Mass from 6:30 to 7:00PM • Service opportunities..St John’s 12.30.13.. • Caroling 12.01.13 SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM YOUTH MINISTRY

YM ALT • GENESIS: • Topics for October 6th, 20th and 27th • Advent penance service with visiting Priest • Service project…St John’s..11/26-Wednesday • Caroling 12.1.13 • We can do service projects on days when they are out of school and on Saturdays and use the sites we have used with ServiceworX and JusticeworX in Trenton and Philadelphia. • September 5th • Parish picnic • Parish service day…..need your help with these.
