Avatar-based User Visualization in Virtual Environments

This project aims to provide an avatar that represents the user's spatial position within the virtual environment. The challenges include capturing the user's position in real space, minimizing tracked points, reconstructing user pose, and visualizing the user using the avatar. The project also focuses on implementing the H-Anim standard, joint hierarchy, connector segments, and combining inverse kinematics and deduction for user pose.

  2. WP4 T7 • Goal: Provide an avatar to visualise the user within the VE. • Should represent spatial position of the user. • Problems: • Capture the position of the user within the real space • Few tracked points to reduce the cost of the capture • Reconstruct the pose of the user from the 3D points • Represent the user in the VE using the avatar 1st Review Meeting

  3. Human Joint Hierarchy • H-Anim Standard • Joint hierarchy (Nodes) • Connector segments • Root Node: Pelvic Joint • Sibling and Child Nodes • Tracked nodes: Head,Hand, (Elbow) • Pose: Combination IK and Deduction 1st Review Meeting
