  3. HI! We just arrived in a desert. Its called Sahara desert. It has a lot of sand. When u walk in the sand your feet get stuck, because of all the sand that is there. The sand is color light brown. The sand looks like if they were mountains, because the sand is all bunched together. The Sahara desert is the biggest desert in the world. The sand is so hot cause of the sun. The climate in winter is 61 degrees. And in the summer the climate is 86 degrees. The climate may change but that’s the most regular climate that you would find in Algeria. The good thing that we brought winter & summer clothes, because in spring the climate is hot and cold. Then we went to the Mediterranean Sea. We went there, because we wanted to fresh out. The Mediterranean Sea is really big. The water there is really refreshing. After that we went to see the Niger River. The Niger River is the biggest river in Algeria.

  5. Hi again! It’s our second day in Algeria. It was 9:00 am, we went to Sunni Muslim church. In that church, they speak Arabic that’s their official language. They also speak Tamazight that is their national language. In the Sunni Muslim church, they have a law that women have to cover there legs and their whole body because that’s there religion. In the church they told us that, it doesn’t matter if its cold or hot they have to cover their whole body. We were sitting with a lady and she told us that women cant go that much outside in the summer because, their whole body is covered. After that we went to a restaurant. The food they have there was Chorba, ( a soup that has meat). They also had Makrout, (a semoling pastry with date filling). Also they had Tajine, (meat, vegetable cooked). The last thing they had was Couscous (made from wheat particles). what my family and I picked to eat was the Chorba. What we did next is that we went to a park where people do art. What we saw in the park, was people doing structures and paper.

  6. AFFECTS OF COLONIALISM

  7. Hi once again!! It’s our third day in Algeria. My family and I went to some place were they tell us what natural resources Algeria has. One natural resource that Algeria has is oil. The other one is natural gas. And the last natural resource that Algeria has is mining. There was some man that knew everything about the government in Algeria. So he is going to tell us all about it. That man was called Mr. Espinoza. He told us that Algeria is the export natural gas. Mr. Espinoza also told us that the government of Algeria gain independence in 1962. He is going to tell us who was elected as president. He also told us that no man under 18 could be elected as president. What’s happening right now is that they elected Abdelaziz Bouteflika as president. They elected him because he was older then 18 years old. He could only be president 5 years. He was elected by the National Council.

  8. HEALTH ISSUES

  9. Hi again!! It’s our fourth day in Algeria. We arrived in a hospital. There was a doctor named Dr. Vanessa. She told us not to get to close to a room because their was a man with a really bad feet disease. She told us that his feet looked burn but it was actually his feet disease that maid him look like that. The man had really really strong feet. But when he had the disease his feet go really ugly and skinny. Dr. Vanessa told us to be careful because we could get a disease. So then we went to the front of the hospital so they could tell us what happening in the hospital now a days. When we arrived in the front of the hospital there was a really huge line, so we didn’t ask them something. After that they told us that there was a hospital near a lake and that the hospital didn’t had good health care.
