  25. Poignant Poignant- evoking a keen sense of sadness or regret Poignant sounds like poison, when someone is poisoned their family is evoked with sadness

  26. Depravity • Definition: A corrupt or depraved or degenerate act or practice; “The various corruption of modern society” • Mnemonic Device: Rave party- a rave is usually filled with corrupt people whose minds are filled with wicked ideas

  27. Prudence • Definition: Knowing how to avoid embarrassment or distress • Mnemonic Device: Crude: not trying to avoid embarrassment; using vulgar gestures

  28. Citadel • Definition: a fortress that commands a city; stronghold • Mnemonic Device: Castle

  29. Sepulcher • Definition: a place of burial : tomb ; a receptacle for religious relics especially in an altar • Mnemonic device: Vulcher because they eat dead things.

  30. Languor • Definition: weakness or weariness of body or mind; listless indolence or inertia • Mnemonic device: Lack of anger

  31. Melancholy • Definition: depression of spirits • Mnemonic device: a farmers melon and collie have been destroyed by the flood so he is depressed.
