  3. Purpose of Car Pooling • The main idea of Car Pooling is that a group of people can ride in one vehicle instead of having individuals driving their own car or riding in hired cars. They can take turns using their cars so that there is savings in terms of money as well as emissions or else ask for one car to pick and ride so as to reduce number of cars deployed. • Car pooling is also extended to company officials travelling to outside locations. • Travelling by company busses is the first option. How it works… • As a part of company’s Greenolution drive, Car Pooling is deployed which helps in reducing individual as well as Company’s carbon foot print • Dedicated customized software for Tata Power is provided by ‘Car Pool World’’ (Link). This facilitates finding the matches with other interested car poolers and help enhanced pooling • The system calculates the Man-Kms travelled against Car-Pool executed • Green Points are generated to the users Private and Confidential | 01

Forming a Carpool Group • Graphic User Interface (GUI) has been set-up to aid the end users conveniently to find matches with other car poolers • The system will credit “Green Points‟ to the members of the Car Pool • The Green Points will be shared by all Car Pooling team members Private and Confidential | 01

Using App Based Cabs • Tata Power decided to use App Based Cabs instead of hiring of vehicles • Tata Power have tied up with OLA cabs for official rides & Business rides • This has reduced by half the total run miles for local travel like drop to airport/railway station • In FY 18-19 more than 10000 rides including 631 share rides has contributed towards reducing Individual car travel distance and fuel consumption Private and Confidential | 01

Car Pool Etiquettes • Stop making a habit of being late • Do not ask your car-poolers to make extra stops along the way • Do not bring up controversial topics like religion or politics unless you know your fellow car-poolers well • Avoid having lengthy cell phone conversations while you are in the carpool. • Communication with your fellow car-poolers • Drive safely at all times • Keep your vehicle clean and in good condition • Respect any other restrictions the carpool has agreed on, such as smoking, eating or drinking Private and Confidential | 01
