PACK 20 Upper Tampa Bay Park • WHO: CUBSCOUTS AND PARENTS • WHAT: CAMPING @ Upper Tampa Bay Park • WHEN: • Dates - Friday, April 25, 2014 to Sunday, April 27, 2014 • Time - Start 6:00PM Fri – 10:00AM Sun • WHERE: Upper Tampa Bay Park is located at8001 Double Branch Rd, Tampa, FL 33635 • COST: Scouts – no cost (from popcorn sales) Adults / Siblings - $12 Saturday Only - $8 (covers nature tour and dinner) • WHY: TO HAVE FUN OF COURSE! *Note: • The park closes at 6:00pm on Friday, but he will leave the main gate open for us as long as possible. If the main gate is closed, the Park Ranger will leave a maintenance gate open for us (go back out to Double Branch Rd, it is where the road dead ends.) • This is a true camping experience. There will be no huts, bunk beds, or restaurants on site. Please all equipment needed such as tents, sleeping bags, equipment for food preparation, etc. • There are no electrical outlets at the campsite. • Our camping are is a short distance to restroom facilities. There are no shower facilities on site. • Pack will supply Saturday dinner, prepared by the Jr. Webelos as one of their requirements. Families will be responsible for their own food for other meals. • There is not vehicle access to the campsite, but it is a short walk from the parking area. • Please wear your Pack 20 T-Shirt (or a navy blue shirt if you don’t have one) on Saturday. • There will be free time for families to explore on their own. This is a great place to fish. If you would like to fish, please bring your own equipment and bait.

  3. PACK 20 CAMPING Instructions • Contact Numbers • Rules of the CAMP and PACK • 1. Smoking is not permitted at campsite or in view of cub scouts. The designated outdoor smoking locations for this campout will be the far end of the parking lot. • 2. No weapons of any kind are allowed on the premises. This includes firearms, air guns, archery equipment and fireworks. • 3. No Alcohol is permitted in the Camp Site, and alcohol consumption will not be tolerated. • 4. No Horse playing in the Camp Site or near the cooking areas. There will be plenty of open field space to run around and have fun. • 5. No Cursing. • 6. As always – LEAVE NO TRACE!

  5. Directions to Campsite Continue driving on Double Branch Rd until you see the following sign: Turn left as if you are going to one of the shelters, and park in any open spots. You will see the shelters right away, our camping area is in the back of the open field behind the shelters & behind the volleyball court.

Friday 6:00 – 8:00pm Arrive, Setup Camp, Free Time 8:00 – 9:15pm Campfire 9:15 – 10:00 Clean up & Lights Out Saturday 8:00am Wake up 8:00 – 9:15 Clean up & Breakfast 9:30 – 11:00 Guided tour of the Nature Center 11:00 – 12:30 Free Time to explore / fish / etc. 12:30 – 1:30pm Lunch & Clean up 1:30 – 3:30 Service Projects / Nature Hike 3:30 – 5:30 Sports Time – Soccer or Volleyball or Kickball 5:45 – 7:00 Pack Dinner 7:15 – 9:15 Campfire Activities 9:15 – 10:00 Clean up & Lights Out Sunday 8:00am Wake Up 8:00 – 9:00pm Clean up & Breakfast 9:00 – 10:00 Tear Down & Go Home!

  8. WHAT TO BRING? * CUBSCOUT WITH BLUEPACK SHIRT or Solid Blue for new cubs * Each family needs to bring their own food (except Saturday dinner) • SUGGESTED Camping • Camping Supplies • Tarp for under tent • Tent • Door mat • Chairs • Sleeping bags • Air Mattress & Air Pump • Blankets • Lanterns with Mantels • Matches • Flashlights • Cubscout Knife w/ parents supervision • Bug Spray (2-3cans) • Personal Hygiene • A complete change of clothes based • on the # of days camping • Towels • Baby wipes • Soap • Toothbrushes • Toothpaste • Hair Brush • Eating Equipment • Coolers (2) Ice • 1 cooler for food • 1 cooler for drinks. • BBQ Grill or cooking stove • Propane tanks • Paper Cups • Paper plates • Paper Bowls • Plastic Ware • Plastic Table Cloth • Pots and Pans • Dish Detergent • Pot scrubber • Paper Towels • First Aid Kit • Band Aids, Neosporin • Misc: • Sunglasses, Cameras, Binoculars • Helpful hints: • Bring lots of water! Not the sweet drinks. • Lots of flashlights, the boys love to play with them. • Place the change of clothes in large plastic bags (like Baggies and seal them) • Do not mix chemicals like cleaners with food.
