Features: The MK-19 Grenade Launcher is a 40.0 MM Automatic Grenade Launcher that is crew served, gas operated, and metallic link belt fed machine gun. The MK-19 engages point targets out to 1,500 meters and engages area targets out to 2,212 meters.
Background: The MK-19 Grenade Launcher Mod# 1 was first introduced as a Naval Hand Cranked Weapon in 1959 and was utilized in the Vietnam Conflict for Coastal Patrol. The MK-19 Grenade Launcher Mod# 4, which we use today, was last updated in 1988.
Primary Function: Crew Served Support Weapon providing additional fire power when effectively integrated with the fires of the squads organic weapons.
