School Demographics

Data overview for c a gray junior high school

  • Even though Reading was the strongest subject area on the CRCT, there is a 6% decline in the African American population from 2013 to 2014. This change should be considered when planning for instruction.

  • While student scores on the Science portion of the CRCT need the most improvement, all demographic areas made gains from 2013 to 2014 as a result of an increased focus on science during the 2013-2014 school year.

Audience participation1

Audience Participation

  • What factors contribute to a lower performance rate overall in science?

  • Science teachers: What assessment tools are used in the classroom to identify strengths and weaknesses with your students?

  • How can we, as a school, support improvement in this area?

  • Non-science teachers: What tasks do you use with your students that support STEM learning? If none, what tasks could be used?
