  1. Urban landscapes and leading lines Week 2

  2. Please show yourself this power point and keep these examples in mind when you are out shooting next week. Better yet, go out and practice BEFORE we go on our trip!

  3. Where does your eye go when viewing this photo?

  4. Does this have “leading lines”?

  5. These lines are a bit more subtle.

  6. A jumble of things but still there are strong leading lines.

  7. When you are looking for photos in an urban landscape don’t just look straight ahead – you will miss a lot!

  8. If lighting conditions are difficult, maybe taking a silhouette might work just as well.

  9. Look for textures or things placed in surprising places

  10. Graffiti can be an interesting subject

  11. City lights requires a longer shutter opening or speed.

  12. Often details are the most interesting things about a building.

  13. Photographing people doing what they just happen to be doing is always interesting – just get yourself at an angle that cuts out extra distractions.

  14. Shooting people using an urban background can be very successful!

  15. Finally don’t forget to try different angles!

  16. Hopefully this has given you a few shooting ideas for our field trip and ideas on how you will present your city in a photograph. • Remember that your photo will be posted on our class website, so make sure you have it uploaded and mailed to me in an email by next Wednesday • folason@centralia.k12.wa.us
