Project short cuts Strengthening Administrative Capacities for Protected Areas in Serbia (NATURA 2000) • Co-operation between Serbia, Austria and Greece together with Experts from 6 EU Member States • Beneficiary Institution: Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Republic of Serbia • Member State Institutions: Environment Agency Austria and European Public Law Organisation, Greece • Involved Member States: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia • Finance: Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) of the European Union • Project budget: 1 Mio Euro • Duration: January 1st 2010-December 31st 2011

  7. Prepare NATURA 2000 • Set up the Reference List of Habitat types and Species • Identify existing data and data gaps • Develop a method to select NATURA 2000 sites • Identify NATURA 2000 sites • Consult on the proposals with stakeholder groups • Prepare two pilot management plans

Institutional Capacity & Public Awareness • Assessment of Nature Conservation Administration • Protomotion of intersectoral cooperation • Execution of Training Programme (workshops, seminars, study visits) • Preparation of communication Strategy • Execution of public awareness campaign(Conferences, Press Conferences,Leaflets…)
