  3. Why deriving indicators from the SEEAW The SEEAW allows for the derivation of precisely defined, consistent and interlinked hydrological–economic indicators, which can be used for • monitoring • analyses of possible causes of changes

  4. Examples of indicators • Water abstraction by sector and by sources • Water discharge by sector • Water abstraction/GDP by sector • Water abstraction/number of employee • Water abstraction per capita • Water consumption by sector • Cost recovery – Is the government recovering the costs of collection, purification, distribution and treatment of water through the fees charged?
