  9. Math Tests • Pretest--Given at the beginning of unit—this tells if students are ready for new concepts. • Test Prep- End of unit test- Looking for mastery.

  12. Ways to Study • Have someone read you the question. Answer it out loud or write it down. • Make up flashcards • Make it into a game-concentration, memory, I spy etc. • Pretend to be a teacher. Make up a test. Give it to a parent.

  13. Behavior Mod Program • Most children were on points last year. • My class has levels they can achieve each week. • Can earn way off points in December for new year.

  14. Class Meetings • Weekly to talk about our classroom. • Encourage each other • Give positive recognition

  15. Report Cards and Conferences • Report cards are issued in November. • Get a report card, not a conference sheet the first quarter. • All subjects are graded.

  16. Lunch information • Check balance, talk to child about extras they can buy. • 2 snacks daily • Xtra helping

  17. Scholastic Book Clubs • Multiple Levels • Easy to order online. http://www.scholastic.com/bookclubs (login for our class is on my website) • Make one check payable to Scholastic no matter how many clubs you order from. (No cash please) • Make great gifts for birthdays or holidays.

  19. Field Trips/Presentations We will have 1 trip and a few presentations. Thanks to H&S generously paying for a bus, trip is nominal. They also pay for one of the presentations. Plan on about $20
