My School. My school is called Jean R ous. You might wonder why it is so called. Jean Rous was a Catalan Activist who was part of the Resistance against the Nazis and fought for the liberation of African people. My school is named in his honor.

  1. MySchool • Myschooliscalled Jean Rous.You might wonder why it is so called. Jean Rous was a Catalan Activist who was part of the Resistance against the Nazis and fought for the liberation of African people. • My school is named in his honor. • My school is on the road from Bompas to Pia. It is a small village near Perpignan in the Pyrenees Orientals department. It opened in September 2007.

  3. The Physical Description Of MySchool • In my school there are 2 parking lots, one for the school staff and the other for parents. For the students who come by bike, there is a cycle parking lot within the school. • When you come through the main gate, on the ground floor, we can see the courtyard. We have the administrative building on the right where we find the headmaster’s office, the deputy head's office, the secretary's office, and the school life office. • On the left we can see the lobby with a dressing room inside, a multipurpose room, the CPE’s office (another senior member of staff), the staff room and on the first floor the school library. Going into the courtyard you can see, on the left the different departments: the Art department, the music department, the technology department and the science department. On the left there is the gymnasium. • There are three staircases that provide access to the first floor. The main hall is divided into four parts: The French department, the History and Geography department, the foreign languages department and the Mathematics department.

People in myschool • In my school there are 664 pupils in different forms: 6 year 10, 7 year 9, 6 year 8, 7 year 7 and a special needs form. • There are : • 4 English teachers • 2 Art teachers • 3 music teachers • 5 PE teachers • 3 Spanishteachers • 7 French teachers • 5 Historyteachers • 5 Mathematicsteachers • 3 biologyteachers • 3 science teachers • 2 Technologyteachers • My headmaster is MrMaubert, the deputy head is Mrbrun and the CPE is MrsArnould.

  7. Life in the school • In my school, we usually start at 8:30 and finish at 5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we start at 8:30 and finish at 12:30. • In all we have twelve school subjects: French, English, Spanish, Maths, Sciences, Physical Education, Technology, Arts, Music, History-Geography and Biology which begins in year 8. • In my school there are several extra-curricular activities: pentathlon, sustainable development, athletics, bilingual classes( 2 languages from year 7 onwards) and a European class which is available from year 9, there are 2 extra Spanish hours. • Finally, the school offers a multitude of sports in an association called UNSS, including football, rugby, basketball, tennis, swimming and badminton. • .
