  2. Importance of sports in student’s life When we talk about a student, an image of a child with a school bag and lots of books comes in our mind. However, the environment of a school should not just be confined to academics. Only academics would make a child bookworm. That is why there are many other activities that are essential for the holistic development of students. These include extracurricular activities and sports.

  3. To some parents, sports & games may appear as wastage of time. However, sports are essential for complete development of the students. Sports not only keep the students healthy but these also contribute to their mental development. Sports allow the students to get rid of their monotonous routine. These also instill personality traits like confidence, self-esteem, team spirit, compassion, etc, in the students.

  4. At MIT VishwashantiGurukul, we understand the importance of sports in student’s life. That is why physical education is one of the significant components of the school. Being one of the top residential schools in India, we encourage our students to participate in sports & games. For this, we have a fixed schedule that every student has to follow. It includes an hour for games and sports daily. We have expert coaches for different sports who provide proper training to the students so that the aspirants can even pursue their career in the respective sport.

At MIT VishwashantiGurukul, we provide a balanced diet to the students and encourage them to play games daily. This ensures that students have a fit and healthy body. • Develop a sense of team spirit, friendliness and confidence: When students play sports like basketball, football, cricket, etc, they develop personality traits such as team spirit, friendliness and it also boosts their confidence. These qualities help them throughout their life.

The students can regularly practice their favorite sport and learn from coaches to master the sport. • Keeps stress and anxiety away: Student’s life is full of burden and tension. They acquire skills such as decision making, confidence, time management, sense of responsibility, etc. Indoor games like carom, chess, sudoku, etc. improves mind mapping, strategies, and the concentration level of students. Sports are beneficial in teaching punctuality, patience, discipline and in directing the students towards their goals Students who are involved in sports stay away from the bones and muscles related diseases like arthritis and joint problems. Such students also keep obesity at bay.
