MORPHEMES. Definition The minimal units of meaning. A single word may be composed of one or more morphemes. A morpheme may be respresented by a single sound also. Examples of morphemes. Only one morphemes in a word. More than one morphemes in a word.

  3. Types of Morphemes • Free morphemes are those that constitute words by themselves, that is, those that can stand by themselves without attaching to other forms.
