  6. Who is the Bully? True or False False Students who bully always have horrible home lives. False Students who bully don’t have any friends. True Bullying can be an attempt to gain social status. False Bullies have poor social skills and often don’t know they are hurting other’s feelings.

Signs your child may be being bullied UnexplainedInjuries Ripped, Torn or Missing Clothing Falling Out with Previously Good Friends Sad, Sullen or Angry with No Apparent Reason Not Wanting to Interact with Peers Change in Behavior Drop in school performance Not wanting to go to school or ride the bus Frequent visits to the school nurse Complaints of headaches or stomachaches especially before school

  8. Talking to your child about bullying. Introduce the topic. Discuss who are trusted adults at home and at school. Allow the child to name the people. Keep talking about it Know the people and events at school Practice what your child should do/say (Role Play) Use books and popular T.V. shows as a bridge to the topic Encourage your child to pursue his/her interests and be active at school
