RE Project Management Team “The first problem of communication is getting people's attention” Define real estate needs during project scoping Recognize potential problems and complex acquisitions Identify possible solutions Necessitate all real estate law/code/policy requirements Know your available resources and how many will be required Start developing your Real Estate Team

  3. Project Kick Off Meeting “Individual commitment to a group effort -- that is what makes a team work” Meeting Discussions Include: Project Plan and Profile Complex Acquisitions Access Modifications Associated Timelines Community Concerns Address All Outstanding Questions

LEAD “We may be magicians, but we can’t read minds” Expectations RE Leads should clearly define their expectations and processes • Scope of Work • Submittals and Notifications • Revocable Occupancy Permits • Encroachment Letters • Objective Appraisal Reviews • Asbestos Testing • Administrative Revisions • Contact with non-RE Key Players • READS Data Entry • Project Status Updates

COORDINATION "The less people know, the more they yell" Specific tasks must be completed before others can begin • Property owners must receive a letter of notification before acquisition staking begins • Appraisals and nominal values cannot be completed until acquisition area is staked • A “Landowner’s Rights” Brochure must be provided • Appraisers, Relocation Specialists and Fixture Appraisers • Approved DSR and Recorded Plat before appraisal approvals • JO process and associated timelines
