  2. Context • Each country has a unique set of political, cultural and historical factors that affect how the most effective communication can be achieved. • Hence a unique communication strategy appropriate to these local factors must be developed for each RMF. 8th ARMFA Annual General Meeting

  3. Communication – long term perspective • Beware of “oversell” • If the results promised now are not delivered in a few years time, further communications will be ignored! 8th ARMFA Annual General Meeting

Within country communications • Objective – To gain public and political support • Transparency – factual and comprehensive details of what is really happening now. • Build on what has been achieved already, try to engage people in wanting to see more achieved. 8th ARMFA Annual General Meeting

  5. Communication between RMFs • Collaborative development of new ideas. • Promote the exchange of good practice. • Continuous exchange (not just occasional). 8th ARMFA Annual General Meeting

Communication with the rest of the world… • African Road Funds are becoming the international reference for practical experience with Road Funds. • ARMFA could actively look for opportunities to communicate with other initiatives outside Africa. • International recognition can assist in achieving greater support for activities from within Africa. 8th ARMFA Annual General Meeting
