Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Deep Dasgupta has recently said that he is surprised to see Kuldeep Yadav has been dropped<br>from the Test squad of Indiau2019s upcoming tour of England. He also added that the young spinner must be backed as he has a very<br>unique skill set.<br>However, his comments came after BCCI announced Indiau2019s squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against<br>New Zealand as well as five tests against England as well. And, Kuldeep Yadav was one of the major names missing the 20-member<br>squad.<br>

  1. “We must back him” – Deep Dasgupta says about Kuldeep Yadav Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Deep Dasgupta has recently said that he is surprised to see Kuldeep Yadav has been dropped from the Test squad of India’s upcoming tour of England. He also added that the young spinner must be backed as he has a very unique skill set. However, his comments came after BCCI announced India’s squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand as well as five tests against England as well. And, Kuldeep Yadav was one of the major names missing the 20-member squad. Notably, Kuldeep Yadav has been travelling with the Indian team but he did not get the chance to play in Australia. Later, in the four-match home Test series against England earlier this year, he got only a match but culdn’t do well and later he was eventually replaced by Shahbaz Nadeem and then Axar Patel as well.   2. “With Kuldeep, I am a little surprised (not picked for England tour). Because a year ago, he was the No. 1 spinner. Within a year, he is not on the contract list. He is not there on any side. He might be there in the side for Sri Lanka. But I am a little surprised. Obviously, his arc has gone down, his performances have gone down. I still believe that his skill set is very unique. And we need to keep investing in him,” Dasgupta told Sports Today. I still believe he is young. He has a lot of cricket left in him and he should not be left in the lurch, let to be on his own. We must back him. I hope so (he gets picked for the Sri Lanka tour).
