  1. Greg Chappell Reveals Rahul Dravid’s Contribution In India’s Domestic Structure Former Australia player, Greg Chappell has said that Rahul Dravid“picked” Australian brains to create a solid domestic structure in India and because of that Indian team is getting such good players. Chappell also added that both India and England have overtaken Australia as the best team in recognising young talents and giving them a platform to showcase their talent as well. Earlier this year, India thrashed Australia at their home in the Border Gavaskar Trophy where it can be said that a second-string Indian team had played as many Indian players missed the series due to injuries. Even, they had played without their regular skipper Virat Kohli, who was on paternity leave. And, Chappell feels that the victory showcased India’s how well those young players have developed as the youngsters were confident enough to perform well without much of an international experience as well. 2. As per the quotes in cricket.com.au., Greg Chappell added, “India has got their act together and that’s largely because Rahul Dravid has picked our brains, seen what we’re doing, and replicated it in India and with their much larger (population) base. I think we’ve already lost our position as the best at identifying talent and bringing it through. I think England are doing it better than us now and India are doing it better than us.” He continued, “When you look at the Indian team that played in the Brisbane Test that had three or four fresh players, and everyone said, ‘This is India’s second XI’ – those guys had played (extensively) for India A. And in all sorts of different conditions, not just in India.” However, the veteran, who served as Cricket Australia’s national talent manager in 2019, feels that the Australian domestic structure needs to undergo some changes so that young batsmen will get to play more first-class cricket which eventually helps them in future as well.
