Aakash Chopra Believes India Has Enough Options in their squad Former Indian cricketer turned renowned commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Team India won’t face any problem even Prithvi Shawand Suryakumar Yadav won’t be there in the remaining matches against Sri Lanka. He named Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Nitish Rana experienced enough to fill the places as well. Both of them are set to join Team India in England but the date of their departure is yet to be announced. While the participation of Shaw and Suryakumar is in doubt after their teammate Krunal Pandya has been tested positive, Aakash Chopra, however, believes India have a lot of options in their kitty. “If they (Shaw and Suryakumar) are available then I don’t think you need to make changes because you haven’t won the series yet. If they aren’t available, you have three options – Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Nitish Rana. You can play any two of these three players. They have enough experience after playing in the IPL,” Chopra said.

He said that the home batsmen should take responsibility and play some anchor innings to win the match. “This is a struggling Sri Lankan team with a few players suspended so this is all that they have. They will need to play differently and players like Avishka Fernando will need to convert starts into big scores. Asalanka did try his best but he alone can’t do all the work. These players will need to bat with more responsibility or else the result will be the same,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
