  1. EOC Testing at Winnetonka Different bell schedule! Different class schedule! WHAT ELSE?!?

  2. Which freshman classeshave to take EOCs? • Math (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II) • ELA I • U.S. History • (That’s it.) • Freshmen don’t take EOCs in science or social studies, unless they’re in U.S. History.

  3. What will the schedule be likeduring EOC’s? Monday Through Thursday: April 28 – May 8 Friday’s will be the usual schedule.

  4. What will the schedule be likefor afternoon-block freshmen?

  5. What will the schedule be likefor morning-block freshmen?

  6. Why does the whole building have to be on a different schedule? • Some EOC’s take up to 5 ½ hours to complete • Those are broken into 2 parts • Each part is 2 hours and 44 minutes long. • This crazyschedule is the only way to give EVERY class TWO of those super-long testing blocks. • The very short periods in the morning are for students coming to school late. • The very short periods in the afternoon are for students who need more time taking an EOC test.

  7. What about classes in whichwe’re not testing? • Classes will continue like normal, except long blocks will have a break about halfway through to use the restroom, because there are NO HALL PASSES during EOCs.

  8. No hall passes for 2 weeks?! • Basically, yes, except on Friday, when we’ll have regular class schedules and no EOCs. • That means you need to go to make sure to use the restroom BETWEEN CLASSES. • Many teachers will have group restroom breaks, when the whole class will walk down together to the part of the building where the restrooms are. That way, you don’t have to hold it for 2 hours and 44 minutes all the time. • If you have an emergency, the teacher will call for an escort to walk you through the hall.

  9. How will lunch time be affected? • Lunch will be the same length of time • You’ll always go to first lunch before taking an EOC. • If you’re not in an EOC class, your lunch time will depend on what room you’re in. (In other words, you’ll have to wait and ask your teacher each day.)

  10. What if I’m absent for an EOC? • You WILL MAKE IT UP. • You must take these tests before you graduate.

  11. What’s the big deal about EOCs?And what’s in it for me if I do well? • Your score counts toward your grade like a test or final exam, depending on the teacher • If you score “Proficient” or “Advanced”, you don’t have to take the final exam for that class! Instead, while the rest of the class is taking the final, you’ll go to the auditorium, watch a movie, and get a free T-shirt! • If you take at least 2 EOCs, and you score “Proficient” or “Advanced” on ALL of them, you’ll earn a FREE Student Activity Pass ($40 value). • FREE ADMISSION to all regular season home football, volleyball and basketball games and wrestling meets.

  12. What if the WHOLE SCHOOLdoes well on the EOCs? • If the school meets its student score goals, there will be an ICE CREAM SOCIAL during the first Friday of school next year. FREE ICE CREAM FOR EVERYONE! • As if you didn’t have enough reasons already to study hard and do your best on EOCs… even if you don’t care about your own grade, do it for your friends, do it for the school, do it for the ice cream!
