  1. A First Look at Taurus with Harp CO 3-2 mapping over 0.75 sqr degrees (TA*(rms) ~ 0.12 +/- 0.04 K in the unbinned data @ 0.05 km/s resolution) 13CO and C18O maps over 0.11 sqr degrees 1

  2. 13CO (and C18O) channel maps Many resolved clumps - lots of subtle velocity structure… Nice comparison of Bowl (evolved) versus SE Ridge (young) 2

  3. We identify 21 outflows spread across L1495; • We measure M/P/KE for 15 of these (the CO flows) • Compare the distribution and properties of the outflows to those of the protostars and H13CO+ cores • HH jets driven by TTSs; CO flows by Class 0/I • Evolutionary gradient along the ridge; bowl most evolved… 3.Use outflows to help distinguish starless from protostellarcores: • # Starless ~ # Prestellar ~ # Protostellar H13CO+ cores • From number of outflows and cloud mass (low Av region): • 1 outflow/92 Msol in ridge; 1 flow/289 Msol in bowl • SFE ~ 10% in ridge, 3% in bowl - i.e. ~ canonical - all protostars drive molecular outflows - CO outflows pin-point protostars Results from the First-Look paper 3

  4. The SE ridge; a great laboratory for the study of pre-/proto-stellar evolution! 4

  5. Future work on Taurus… SCUBA-2 mapping; just where are all the “cores” Additional 13CO/C18O mapping - dust versus gas distribution A closer look at the Spitzer data; get a better handle on the YSO population Higher-resolution CO mapping of the outflows Deeper H2 (and optical?) imaging… 5
