  2. Rationale Children of all ages (K-12) are talented and creative. I want to empower them. This project will give them the opportunity to develop their creative potential and synthesize and apply knowledge and skills by creating an “invention” or “innovation” to solve a problem, just as a “real” inventor would The problem—Design a Sneaker
  3. Participants will explore Nike website to: read and evaluate sneaker descriptions. customize and create a sneaker. Participants will develop one persuasive writing piece: Letter to Nike selling your shoe idea Television commercial that will be shown during Super Bowl 2011. Must have a slogan or a jingle Product description for Nike website or any shoe/clothing catalog Objectives

Follow these “Steps” Log on to computers using your user id and password Open your browser--Internet Explorer Firefox KeyNike.comin the URL address window Click English > United States and you will end up on the Nike homepage shown here Select the Nike Store located underneath the video > Search for Nike Air Morgan mid iD Men’s Shoe> and now you’re ready to go.

  11. Design process … Create your product Using crayons, markers or any other medium you like, create a prototype of your customized shoe design using the template in your packet
  12. Describe it … Now you need to market the shoe Use descriptive terms (refer to your Word$ That $ell handout L.L.Bean Catalog, Nike Website
  13. Sell it … Choose one of the following Letter to Nike USA 30 second Super Bowl commercial Catalog or Web site description
