FCoE • FCIA will be putting together a Marketing Plan around these activities working with the T11 organization • FCIA starting-up FCoE Committee for all things marketing regarding FCoE – look for concall announcement • Other Progress to date: • Developed a FCIA Positioning Statement • FCIA/FCAWG contributed to an SNIA FCoE Article to be distributed this month the SNIA Europe Storage Networking Times • Identified key bullet points around FCIA/FCoE and added to FCIA Roadmap preso • FCIA representative on FCoE panel at SNIA Storage Developers Conference

FC Roadmap Presentation • Still getting Rave Reviews In Europe! • SNIA Europe Academy • May - Craig Skelton (Emulex) presented in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo & Moscow • Both content & presentation continued to rate highly throughout the series • In Copenhagen, our content was #1 of the day • In Oslo, our presentation was #1 of the day • HP Conference this Month

Roadmap Forum - 5/4/7 Concall • Next speeds 16GFC (base2) and ISL 40GFC (base10) • Serial or parallel • If feasible, serial preferred for 16GFC (parallel for 40GFC) • Fibre cable economics mandate 4 or more lanes to be cost effective • Multi-lane solutions must be integrated for PCB layout issues • Same backward compatibility requirements as always • Similar variants as 8G • Core market least costly <100m • 10Km for long-haul niche • Something in the middle? • Backplane likely, disk unknown (will there even be 8GFC disk?) • Technology leveraging • 16GFC • 10G remains primary highest base speed going forward • 25G work by IEEE is WDM; questionable reuse for 16GFC • Nothing obvious yet! • 40GFC • HSSG 4x10G 40GE proposals obvious choice to leverage • Unclear how HSSG will resolve 100GE only vs 40 and 100GE battle
