  2. Entrepreneurs • An entrepreneur is someone who starts a business in hope to make a profit from the product being sold.

  3. Reason I Picked Walt Disney • I picked Walt Disney because he was one of the most successful entrepreneurs ever. I also picked Walt Disney because when I was younger I liked to watch his movies on TV.

  4. Mickey Mouse This is Mickey Mouse one of Walt Disney’s first creations for his cartoons.

  5. Walt Disney Walt Disney started the Disney productions with Mickey Mouse in his cartoons. He founded the company in October, 1923.

  6. Walt Disney’s Childhood • Disney was born December 5th 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. When he was four he moved to Marceline, Missouri where his brother recently bought land. He lived in Marceline for four more years until he moved to Kansas city, Missouri. In 1917 Walt moved back to Chicago because his mother bought shares for a jelly factory. Walt dropped out of school at the age of 16 to join the army but he was under aged so he was rejected.

  7. Why Walt Disney is Successful • Walt Disney is successful because he is a hard working man • He also pooled his money with his brother to set up a cartoon studio • He started making cartoons before he even had the job (ex. Alice comedies).

  8. Products • The Disney company has many products such as dolls to theme parks. • Disney has two theme parks, one in California and one in Florida. • The best product that Disney has is Mickey Mouse.

  9. Manufacturing • Disney has a database of more than 60,000 factories • Currently 17,000 are approved to make Disney products

Company Evolution • At first Disney just made cartoons but later they started to build theme parks and selling toys. • To buy one stock costs $30.70 • The total market cap of the Disney company is $57.26 billion • The board of people that run Disney are John E. Pepper Jr., Robert A. Iger, James A. Rasulo, Thomas O. Staggs, Christine M. McCarthy, Alan N. Braverman, Kevin A. Mayer, Mary Jayne Parker, Judith L. Estrin and Monica C. Lozano.

  11. Evolution Continued • After Disney started making movies he wanted to start to make theme parks when he built one in California everyone went there so he wanted to build one in Florida but died during the process of the building “Walt Disney World” in Orlando Florida.

  12. Current Situation of Disney co. and Walt Disney • Currently Disney Co. is doing very well. • It is one of the most successful corporations in the world. • Walt Disney is currently dead, he died December 15th 1966, 10 days after his 65th birthday.
