Phased Approach Divided the process into separate parts with a hold point in between: Phase 1: Review & Compare current WSEC with current and proposed IECC: resulting in recommendation to Council on path forward *HOLD POINT* Phase 2: Review IRC Phase 3: Take action according to Council’s review and guidance

TAG Comparison Philosophy: Identify amendments necessary to make IECC as stringent as WSEC Do not introduce amendments unless they had WSEC basis Identify major philosophy shifts (climate zone, cost budget vs energy budget, Residential definition) as single amendments H is the “difference factor”. It is a measure of how different (spread) the integration values of the nodes are. H* depends only on H. Normalized H. Entropy measure. I: Integration; NCn: Connectivity per node; CV: Control Value; TDn: Total depth per node; ERAM: Eigenvector measurement for Seoul paper. Spatial info might be obtained through Quadtrees/Octrees or BSP, but there are other options available. Quadtrees/Octrees are beneficial in that they give us a consistent way of partitioning and representing spaces. The tree/map is easier to store than the actual pictures of floor plans, and the floor plans can always be re-created, perfectly, from them.H is the “difference factor”.     10. TAG Recommendation & Council’s Decision Start moving WSEC closer to IECC Change WSEC format to match IECC’s Adopt some amendments that would benefit the WSEC from the IECC Work proactively at IECC level to affect changes that would move codes closer

    11. And…. Maintain the WSEC until the IECC comes closer to it in stringency Work at the IECC level to achieve this Focus amendment review and approval process toward this goal
