What We Are • Our = a community • Local = based in Maroondah & environs • FIRM = business • Fun=a social outlet for business people • Information = an educational resource • Referrals = a source of relationships to generate business • Mateship = a source of relationships to support me/my business

  3. What We Are Not • Just a business networking group • A selling forum • A Chamber of Commerce • Like BNI • A lobbying group • Anything more or less than we claim to be

  4. What We Do • Facilitate relationship building • Educate and inform • Socialise over lunch • Showcase premium members who invest in marketing through us/subsidising us That’s all (that we do) folks!

  5. Our Stakeholders • Our members • Other participating business people • Local business groups • Local government • Host/caterer • Our committee • Other suppliers

Our Value Proposition • For local business groups • Single specialist activity: not threatening • Minimal effort value add for members • Marketing channel for own activities • For local government • Independent - not political or lobbyist in nature • Proven successful format • Not competitive with other groups • Marketing channel for own activities

Our Success Plan • Focus on delivery of the product and do it well! • Balance the F+I+R+M opportunities for participants • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local business groups based on reciprocity • Develop and maintain effective relationships with local government (EDU + others) • Demonstrate ethics & best practice in all activities • Market the product in relevant & contemporary ways • HAVE FUN………AND MORE FUN

Our Succession Plan • Continuously attract and develop leadership talent to deliver the success plan • As long as it works (is FUN), keep doing it • If it stops working (is not FUN), stop doing it • If it stops and there is any money left in the kitty, donate it to something worthwhile. In 2007, 4 people went to lunch to catch up… let’s not lose sight of how and why this started.
