  3. ⇒【1】introduction ■History 1998-2002 In the first 5-year project we focused on ORT. Its objectives were improving the knowledge and practices of PHC(Primary Health Care). 2003- The strong desire for the next 5-year project from rovers enabled to continue the new stage. We started to do the both PHC and NC(nature conservation) project since 2003.

  4. ⇒【1】introduction ■Main Components Primary Health Care Nature Conservation ORT/LGS,Sanitation, Kitchen Garden, Latrine,Garbage Pit, Breast Feeding, Balance Diet, Water Supply,IDD Environmental Education, Eco-communal garden BS has been emphasizing on Child to Child, Child to Parents, Child to community approach in PHC.

  6. ⇒【2】Project Method ■Project Actors -Who make the project?- Active Participation Local Community People To switch from knowledge level to practice level in PHC, rovers will hear and learn from local community people.

  7. ⇒【2】Project Method ■Project Actors -Who make the project?- These voluntary groups’ members are former participants and leaders. B & J Rover Group: BAG/JAG These voluntary rover groups are essentials for the improvement and continuation of the project

  8. ⇒【2】Project Method ■Project Actors -Who make the project?- • - Bangladesh Scout • Scout Association • of Japan Both of the association havea good understandingfor the projectas a rover activity.They accept the different kinds of ideas from rovers and recognize them, then support them.

  13. ⇒【2】Project Method ■Practical Method Do • House to House approach • Using pictures • 66 houses per one group in a day • Approach both mothers and fathers • 7-8 Bangladesh scout and rovers for one Japanese rover • Working with health workers • Practical set up of latrine, kitchen garden And Distribution of some materials

  14. ⇒【2】Project Method ■House to House Approach Do 1200houses/year 6 villages 1 Japanese rover and 1Bangaldesh rover and 6~7 scouts and 1 health worker visit every house in the village to tell some PHC knowledge.

  15. ⇒【2】Project Method ■Picture approach Do Visual effects beyond words ! Japanese rovers prepared somepictures about PHC so that they couldtell the PHC knowledge more effectively. B & J rovers and scouts tell the massages about PHC to local people.

  16. ⇒【2】Project Method Check Action We evaluate every phase, among rovers and also BS. After the several evaluation meetings, we write report, and start to consider the next year’s strategy.

  17. ⇒【3】Effects ■Local community people 87.3 66 34 12.7 Sanitation After the former 5-year project BS did a statistics investigation. It shows a positive change in knowledge level of PHC.

  18. ■ Rover Scout movement ⇒【3】Effects The number of rover scout participated to the project.
