Mission of Peace Radio • Good News • To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Church • Two goals 1) Non-Catholics: to convey the Catholic messages 2) Catholics: to reeducate through a variety of programs • Bright World • To promote the common good in the areas of Justice, Peace, and Charity that flows from the Catholic spirit.

Programs of Peace Radio • 4 main sections of contents 1) Catholic oriented contents 2) General educational programs 3) Music programs 4) News • On Sundays around 70% of all contents are evangelical programs (ex. Sunday Mass, liturgical music, catechism, lecture on the scripture, Catholic news, and so on)

  5. 3. Local Peace Radio Stations • Peace Radio Station (Main): Seoul Archdiocese • 4 Local Peace Radio Stations 1) Kwangju : Kwangju Archdiocese 2) Daegu : Daegu Archdiocese 3) Pusan : Pusan diocese 4) Daejeon : Daejeon diocese • Relay the programs of Peace Radio • Broadcast their own programs

Characteristics of Peace Radio Station in Korea where Catholics are a minority • 3 main Religions and Radio Stations 1) Buddhism (22.8%): one Radio Station since 1992 2) Protestantism (18.3%): two Radio Stations by the associated protestant denominations, since 1954 and 1956 respectively 3) Catholic (10.9%): one Radio Station since 1990 • Competition among religions is very severe • Strategies in the multi-religious context • respect other religions • reach the general audience without being too straight, but imply the virtue of Catholicism within contents
