Synopsis • Chris and Joan are struggling with the recent loss of their 9-year old daughter, Lila . Chris is contacted by her from beyond the grave, via a toy telephone. Overwhelmed by grief and grappling with his own sanity, Chris begins to contemplate fulfilling Lila's sole request: reuniting her with her mother.
Theme and Genre • Underlying Theme: A parent´s inability to overcome grief after the loss of a child. • Genre: Horror/Thriller
Visual Style • The film will feature a cold colour palette, using blues, grays. The purpose of this is to make the audience uneasy as well as underline the idea of death. • The visual style will be based on the one employed in the American TV Show "Hannibal"
Techniques • Certain scenes in the film will feature the use of a dolly • The rest of the film will mostly consist of tripod shots
Audience • The film would create suspense and a sense of unease caused by the ambiguity of the situation • The twists in the plot, as well as the protagonists´s psychological degradation would shock and potentially scare the audience • Target audience: Male and female 18-50.
