  3. Agenda 2/2 • Tuesday 27th October AM: • Matters Arising from Agency Reviews • TAS Outstanding RIDs • DAS Outstanding RIDs • DAS, DVS and Device Packet Protocols (Stuart Fowell) • DDPS Outstanding RIDs • DDPS and Application/Communication Synchronisation (Stuart Fowell) • Tuesday 27th October PM: • Joint meeting with AMS • MTS Interoperability Testing (Stuart Fowell) • Wed 28th – Thurs 29th October: • Plug-and-Play • Friday 30th October AM: • Closing Plenary • Remaining Work Plan (Stuart Fowell) • Green Book Updates? SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  4. Latest Prototyping Activities • SciSys/Astrium (Stuart Fowell) • RUAG (Johan Otterström) • ESA ECSS 1553 (Aitor Viana Sanchez) SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  5. SOIS and Space Protocols • TM/TC Modules • TM/TC Module treated as a device • Chris Taylor to review variety of 5-6 actual spacecraft implementations & summarise differences in architectures • Use this as basis for recommending different ways of how to use SOIS to access TM/TC modules • Green Book will be updated to explain this • PUS, DTN and CFDP • Uses SOIS to access TM/TC modules and File Stores • Green Book will be updated to explain this SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  6. General Matters • ESA want to define concrete APIs from the abstract service interface • Will publish ANSI C API from SOIS Proof of Concept project before Spring 2010 Meeting • Device Virtualisation is valuable without Plug-and-Play • Not receiving enough attention yet • Green Book will be updated to explain this SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  7. Agency Reviews • TAS Red Book • All RIDs dispositioned • Update Red Book and request issue as Magenta • DAS Red Book • All RIDs dispositioned • Add device-specific access protocols • Refine support for devices asynchronously emitting data & describe • Update Green Book • Update Red Book and request final Agency Review after further prototyping • DDPS Red Book • All RIDs dispositioned • Add support for synchronisation with subnetwork & describe • Add support for devices asynchronously emitting data & describe • Update Green Book • Update Red Book and request final Agency Review after further prototyping SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  8. File and Packet Store Services • File Transfer • Change definition of file-store to single onboard file-store • Removes need for File Transfer Service • move & copy become part of File Management • CFDP then is only a user of File Services • Stuart to update Red Book • Clarified directory and/or file locking • Aitor to update Red Book primitives • Identified need for File Network Access Protocol & mapping onto Subnetwork Services • Necessary for interoperability between OBC and File Store • None will be recommended in current issue of FPSS book • If one is identified, up-issue FPSS book to reference • If one is specified, new separate book • Update Green Book (no FTS, requirement for FNAP but not spec’d now) Stuart • Update FPSS Red Book and put out for final Agency Review (Stuart) SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  9. Message Transfer Service • Profile of AMS mapped onto Subnetwork Packet Service • Narrowing of use of primitives • Protocol optimisations included directly into AMS protocols • Remote AMS not required for spacecraft-only messaging • Red Book • WG RIDs dispositioned • Aligned with AMS Red Book • Update Red Book and request 1st Agency Review • ACTION: What to do about MIBs in SOIS Red Books (Chris, Stuart) SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  10. Joint SOIS ASS/SIS AMS Meeting • Planned MTS Interoperability Testing • Test two implementations of the MTS profile of AMS • Testing is a profile of AMS Interoperability Testing Plan • Interoperability point is two implementations running on separate onboard processors interoperating over a subnetwork using a common SOIS Subnetwork Packet Service • Single implementation of registrar and configuration server running on one processor • Agreed to use a SpaceWire Packet Service as Transport Service • Need to agree on a SpaceWire Packet Protocol – no standard available at this point in time • Use SpaceWire IP Tunnel • Implementations: JPL’s ION and ESA/SciSys MTS • Update required to both related to locating other implementation’s registrar • Test either being used as registrar SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary

  11. Actions • Review variations in actual spacecraft implementations & summarise differences in architectures (Chris) • Update Green Book to recommend different ways of how to use SOIS to access TM/TC modules (Stuart) • Update Green Book to recommend how PUS, DTN and CFDP use SOIS to access TM/TC modules and File Stores (Stuart) • Update Green Book to describe how Device Virtualisation is valuable without Plug-and-Play (Stuart) • Update TAS Red Book with RID Dispositions (Stuart, 1 Dec 09) • Update DAS Red Book with RID Dispositions (Stuart, 1 Dec 09) • Update Green Book with DAS device access protocols and async device data emittance (Stuart) • Update DDPS Red Book with RID Dispositions (Stuart, 1 Dec 09) • Update Green Book with DDPS subnetwork synchronisation and async device data emittance (Stuart) • Update FPSS Red Book with RID Dispositions and FTS removal (Stuart, Aitor, 1 Dec 09) • Update Green Book with removed FTS and note on file network access protocol (Stuart) • Decide what to do about MIBs in Red Books (Chris, Stuart, 1 Dec 09) • Update Green Book with V&V (Felice, Chris) • Identify & manage contributions to Green Book updates (Chris) • Update Green Book with overall spacecraft Plug-and-Play architecture (Felice) • Working Group review of Issue 0.1 of DVS Red Book (All SOIS, ESA AOCS) • Update schedule for DES (affected by PnP) (Chris, Stuart) SOIS Application Support Services WG – Fall 2009 Meeting Summary
