  1. Unit 1 Review Objective: To successful complete the unit 1 test

  2. Coordinate Plane • Objectives: • To be able to graph lines on the coordinate plane • To be able to identify the slope of a line • To be able to identify parallel, perpendicular, or neither lines • To be able to explain different types of slope

  3. Draw the lines represented by the equations on the coordinate plane • x + y = 2 • 3x + 3y = 9 • Graph the lines • Describe the slope 3. Identify the relationship between the 2 lines.

  4. Draw the lines represented by the equations on the coordinate plane • 4x + y = -2 • 4y = -x + 12 • Graph the lines • Describe the slope 3. Identify the relationship between the 2 lines.

  5. Distance and Midpoint • Objectives: • To be able to find the distance and midpoint between two points • To be able to apply the distance and midpoint formulas to different situations

  6. Find the distance and midpoint for the following 2 points A ( 3, 4) B ( -2, 4)

  7. Applications of distance and midpoint • Graph the points • (-3,0) (0,3) (3,0) (0,-3) • What is the figure that is formed? • Explain how you could find the center point • Find the area and circumference of the figure

  8. Parallel Lines and Angle Relationships • Objectives: • To be able to identify angle relationship • To be able to solve for a missing angle • To be able to use vocabulary and apply it

  9. Solve for the missing variables 10x + 10 14x + 2y 5x + 40

  10. Solve for the missing variables 3x + 2y 60 5x

  11. Define and illustrate the vocabulary • Skew lines • Parallel Lines • Parallel Planes • Coplanar • Collinear

  12. Area, Perimeter, Circumference • Objectives: • To be able to calculate the area, perimeter, and circumference of a figure • To be able to apply the formulas to different situations ****Formulas will be provided******

  13. Your parents are looking for your geometry help in tiling their kitchen floor. The dimensions of the kitchen are 10ft by 14 ft. • Find the area of the kitchen • How many tiles would you need to buy if: • Tiles are 1 ft by 1ft • Tiles are 2 ft by 2 ft • Tiles are 3 ft by 3 ft • Tiles cost $ 3.50 each. What would be the total cost for each tile size? (remember you can buy half a tile) • Tiles are 1 ft by 1ft • Tiles are 2 ft by 2 ft • Tiles are 3 ft by 3 ft

  14. Find area and perimeter of the figure

  15. Find area and perimeter of the figure

  16. Comparing Areas • A square and a rectangle have equal area. If the rectangle is 3 ft by 27 ft, what is the perimeter of the square?

  17. Comparing area • Explain the difference between the two triangles 2 ft 6 ft 10 ft 30 ft

  18. Study !!! Vocabulary Practice Problems Notes Quizzes and Tests
