National Mainstreaming Working Group • Who’s involved :DP’s, MA, Equality Authority, Dept of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Dept of Ed, Dept of Social family Affairs, Dept of Justice equality Law reform, ICTU, IBEC, SFA, Community voluntary sector, FAS • Outcomes of May Meeting: • Need to target other agencies/actors • Maintain north south Dimension • Develop Focused media strategy • NAPS Social Inclusion – Ongoing dialogue between EQUAL & NAPS • National Employment Action Plan – MA to establish best approach to link into this policy process • Review of Structural Funds – Equality Authority Report – EQUAL • Presidency 2004 – MA/TSS to plan event

  5. European Thematic Network • Structure – Steering Group, Liasion Group, Working Group, 5 Sub Working Groups • Focus – Building Diversity – 2 themes • Working Groups – 5 clear links to National Working Groups • October Event Brussels – Meeting of all EQUAL ETG’s

  6. Outcomes from Today • Agreement on structure; • Dates for future meetings; • Co-ordination of Working Groups; • Formally nominate 2 rep’s for NMG; • Potential players for European Thematic Networks;

Food for thought ….. • EYPD – case study or report on activity at a national level focusing on work with People with Disabilties; • Employers bulleting Board – development – www.bulletinboard.com/view.cfm?comcode=kwequal • Equality and Diversity training pilot; • Identification of EQUAL GOOD Practice for NEAP; • Employability Conference – Thematic Network Event December 2003 – Exchange Mart (involvement of wider audience);
