  2. 70 RETAIL MODOT What Does Motor Carrier Services Do? • Collects and distributes fuel tax and license plate fees • Registers for-hire motor carriers • Ensures for-hire carriers operate safely and carry proper insurance • Issues permits to those who carry loads that are higher, wider or heavier than what is normally legal.
