  37. Software Updates • When you notice a red box with a number in it on the settings icon of your home screen, you are in need of an Apple software update • Your apps will likely not work properly without the update. • This is the singular cause of most of my problems with iPads: not promptly completing software updates! No updates needed Updates needed

  38. Software Updates To complete the software updates: • Tap on the settings icon. • Inside settings, tap on “general.” • Tap on “software update.” • Follow the prompts. *Note: Software updates can take a long time, so its best to do them at the end of the day so the updates can continue as needed through the evening hours. No updates needed Updates needed

App Updates • Like the software updates, when you notice a red box with a number on the App Store icon of your home screen, one or more apps are in need of updates. • Your apps will likely not work properly without the update. • This is the secondary cause of most of my problems with iPads: not promptly completing app updates!

  40. App Updates To complete the app updates: • Tap on the App Store icon. • Tap “updates” on the bottom right of the screen. • Tap “update all.” *Note: App updates can take a long time, so its best to do them at the end of the day so the updates can continue as needed through the evening hours.
