26. Persian Empire Persian Empire The Persian empire first became prominent about 550 BC when King Cyrus conquered the Babylonian empire. Daniel was in exile in Babylon when the Persians conquered that city. Cyrus allowed many Jews to return to their homeland. Esther became queen to king Xerxes I. The Jews were allowed to take back many temple treasures and rebuild the temple as described in the stories of Exra and Nehemiah. The Persians controlled lands from Egypt to as far as India and as far north as modern day Turkey. They held their empire for about 200 years. In 333 BC, Alexander the great defeated them. Persian religion was based on the life of a herdsman. Persian Empire The Persian empire first became prominent about 550 BC when King Cyrus conquered the Babylonian empire. 39. ?Julius Streicher, the ninth child of a Roman Catholic primary school teacher, also became a school teacher in Nuremberg. He published, edited, and wrote for the German newspaper Der St?rmer and served as a prominent Nazi prior to and during World War II.

40. Only the Jews, he shouted, had remained victorious after the dreadful days of World War I. These were the people, he charged, of whom Christ said, "Its father is the devil." -Julius Streicher [See John 8:44, for Christ's accusation of father the devil]

41. After the Nuremberg trials Julius Streicher along with ten other Nazi?s were ordered to be hanged. As he reached the platform, Julius Streicher cried out, 'Now it goes to God.? Indicating that the next phase of his trial will be in front of the most famous of Jews, our Lord Himself. He was pushed the last two steps to the trap door beneath the dangling hangman's rope. Streicher was turned to face the witnesses by the executioner. As they put the rope around his neck he screamed, ?The Feast of Purim 1946.? then said his last words;?Heil Hitler?

46. streicher held an enthusiasm about allegations that the Jews murdered Gentiles in order to obtain blood to make Matzah for the feast of Passover. He charged that Jews hated Christianity and mankind in general. He claimed that "Christ was not a Jew but an Aryan."

50. Today, Haman, the would-be ancient killer of Jews, has his modern counterpart in another Persian leader who also wants to kill Jews: Mahmoud Ahmadnejad, the president of Iran, the modern name for Persia. Even though the two evil men are separated by thousands of years in time, they both share high political offices in the same country, and they have both engaged in murderous rhetoric aimed at the same group of people.

51. Haman: "The Jews do not obey the king's laws, and it does not pay for the king to tolerate their existence as a people" (Esther 3:8). Ahmadnejad: "The Islamic community will not allow its historic enemy to live in its heartland. The establishment of the Zionist regime (Israel) was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world" (Oct. 26, 2005).

52. Haman: "If it please the king, let a law be written that they (the Jews) be destroyed" (Esther 3:9). Ahmadnejad: "As the Imam (Ayat Allah Khomeini) said, Israel must be wiped off the map" (Oct. 26, 2005).

53. Haman: "He was disdainful of killing Mordecai, but once Haman learned Mordecai was a Jew, he resolved to kill all Jews in the empire" (Esther 3:6). Ahmadnejad: "The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land" (Oct. 26, 2005).

54. Sixty years ago in Nuremberg, Germany, Julius Streicher, the notorious Nazi anti-Semite actually compared himself to Haman. Like his lethal ancient mentor, Streicher was also hanged. As he went to his death the Nazi war criminal yelled: "Purim 1946 ... Heil Hitler." ?
