  2. Career Journey Kevin Panet began his career in Human Resources, when he joined the United States Air Force to see the world, get an education and to serve his country. He began with traditional HR generalist activities, managing programs involving on-boarding, performance appraisals, awards & recognition, safety & wellness, training, records management & document security. In his last Air Force assignment, he spent 6 years at the Space and Missile Systems Center in California. During this time, he earned his BS in Business Administration and a MS degree in HR Management. After 12 years of faithful active duty service, he transitioned to the active Air Force reserves. Working for BD Systems, as an Organizational Development consultant, Kevin provided services to the U.S. Air Force, where he grew a profitable new business unit. Then, he was offered the chance to work as a training manager for Special Devices, manufacturing explosive devices. Desiring to work for a larger world-class company, Kevin joined The Boeing Company as an Employee Involvement Coach, ultimately helping members of the C-17 team win the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award. Recognized for his talents at management development and fostering positive employee relations, he was then hired at Blue Cross of California as a Human Resources Manager. Then, an opportunity presented itself to join fast-growing WMC Mortgage, as their training manager, increasing the company value from $20m to over $800m. Sadly, with the decline of the mortgage industry, WMC Mortgage, and subsequently Ownit Mortgage Solutions, were closed. After a few years experiencing a career in sales, Kevin rejoined the HR profession. After working on a 18-month project as a n instructional designer and trainer, he is now available for immediate hire. Kevin has kept his skills current through his membership in PIHRA, SHRM, and the NHRA. In 2011, Kevin earned the SPHR-CA (Senior Professional in Human Resources with California certification) designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute. Career Accomplishments •At Ownit Mortgage Solutions, managed a $1.3 million budget, supervising 3 employees, while providing training and marketing support to over 600 employees at multiple sites across the United States. Streamlined several functions reducing costs by 10%, saving over $100,000 •Delivered a 2-week sales training course at Ownit for $33,000, enabling new employees to produce 123 loans, funding $45,957,713. •At WMC Mortgage, created a training department as company grew from 411 to 2,700 people in three years, at locations across the United States, increasing the company’s value from $20m to over $800m. •Trained and coached manufacturing teams building C-17 aircraft at The Boeing Company to win the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, with one team reducing costs over 80%, by significantly reducing labor hours required by airship. •Facilitated the merger of 2 U.S. Air Force launch program offices into one, then reduced workforce by 40%, while doubling the launch rate, while keeping quality and morale high, while driving costs down. •Coordinated Wellpoint’s first on-line United Way campaign, introducing e-Pledge, at multiple sites, across the United States, doubling the previous year total over $1.6m. •At Blue Cross, provided Employee Relations for an 850-employee client base, quickly responding to ER issues, reducing the risks of costly lawsuits. •Facilitated strategic planning efforts for the senior management of the $27 billion Titan Space Launch Program, as well as the Atlas and Delta launch programs.
